India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2020 Pitch Report – India and Australia will now face the must-win situation after India beat Australia by 36 runs in the second ODI match in Rajkot. Australia will eye for a consecutive one-day series win under their belt while India will want to repeat their heroics with the bat and ball to avoid Australia to win this series. Now, these two sides will meet on Sunday, 19th January 2020 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Australia had an easy day in Mumbai. It was their all-round show that helped them lead 1-0 up in the three-match one-day international series. But, their bowling was below par in Rajkot, the quicks were too expensive and two of their main bowlers were wicket-less in the 2nd One day match.
India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2020 Pitch Report
Pat Cummins bowled well but wasn’t able to take any wickets at the start. Starc too couldn’t continue bowling his proving line. They didn’t pick up a single wicket and because of that, the Indian batsmen could put more on the inexperience of Kane Richardson and Ashton Agar.
Adam Zampa was the only one who bowled with good lines and lengths. The battle between Kohli and Zampa will continue on Sunday. Zampa has now picked up Kohli twice in the two ODI matches so far. Now, the spinner will look to dominate against Kohli in the third ODI match as well.
India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2020 Pitch Report – But Cummins and Starc will look for much-improved performances with the ball in the series-deciding match. Both Starc and Cummins are the prime bowlers for Australia. If they are in pressure, it will probably hurt Australia like the last match. So, they should perform well as they did in Mumbai.
Australia’s batting also looked weak in that tough run chase. Warner and Finch should step up with their A-game, just like they did in Mumbai. Now, in the series decider, Australia will want a similar performance from their openers like the one in Mumbai.
Steve Smith batted well and kept Australia in the game at Rajkot. But, he missed his ton by two runs. Now, Smith will have to contribute well just like he did on Friday. He is undoubtedly the best batsman to bat at number three for Australia. So, he should use this opportunity and take Australia to a series win over India in India.
India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2020 Pitch Report – Marnus Labuschagne batted well in the second ODI match. His first innings started on a good note. He and Steve Smith shared a partnership that kept the Indian bowlers at bay. But, due to the increasing run rate, Labuschagne had to throw his wicket away. He is also a handy bowler but the Indian batsmen played him well and did not allow him to get an ODI wicket. In the series decider, Australia will want Labuschagne to bat well and if needed, he should also be able to contribute with the ball.
Ashton Turner and Alex Carey should be able to finish the game. After a fail in Rajkot, Australia will now want their lower order batsmen to step up in this do or die match. If Australia bats first then Carey and Ashton Turner should help Australia in putting up a good score on the board.
India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2020 Pitch Report – India, on the other hand, will want to continue doing the best that they can do, like they did in Rajkot. The batsmen, bowlers, and the fielders stepped up in the crunch game and levelled the series.

Now in the series decider, the men in blue will want a similar effort from their openers. Dhawan scored two back to back fifties in the first two games, now in the third and the final match, Dhawan will want to reach the three figures mark which he missed by just 4 runs.
Rohit Sharma will also be inciting to go all-in in Bengaluru. The small stadium will suit the batsmen more. So, Rohit will want to get going there just like he did in Rajkot. He was close to reaching his half-century but fell to Zampa before he reached the 50 mark. Now, Hit Man will want to continue his good form in the series decider.
India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2020 Pitch Report – Virat at number 3 is the best idea, especially when the team is 0-1 down in the series. Virat played a classy knock at the number 3 position and once again showed us why he is the don of that number for India in ODI cricket. In the series decider, Virat should lead the team from the front at number 3. This will certainly put India in a commanding position.
Shreyas Iyer and Manish Pandey failed to deliver after a good start provided by Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. Iyer has been struggling to spin bowlers at the number 4 position. He got out to Adam Zampa while playing a needless short. Iyer will look for an improved performance in Bengaluru.
Manish Pandey batted so well in the Pune T20 International against Sri Lanka. But in Rajkot, he managed just two runs. He might be dropped and Kedar Jadhav can most likely play instead of him. Kedar has finished the innings well in the past and can also turn his arm over if needed.
Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav were good at Rajkot. But they will have to be good in Chinnaswamy as well. They will need to minimise their errors because of the size of the ground. The Australian batsmen can put them to the cleaners if the ball is short in length.
India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2020 Pitch Report – Bumrah was seen at his best in Rajkot. But now, he will face a tougher task in this series decider. Bumrah will have to deliver those variations and crush Yorkers in Bengaluru. The margin of error should be small as the Aussie batsmen are likely to pounce on anything short.
Shami was expensive. But he picked up three wickets as well. Shami should correct his line in the last game. The stump to stump line is ideal for Shami and in Bengaluru, he shouldn’t bowl away worthy lines like did in Rajkot.

Saini was decent in Rajkot. But in the series-deciding match, he needs to be more accurate with his line and length. He needs to keep bowling well to cement his place in the limited-overs set up. Once Bhuvneshwar and Chahar are fit, it will be difficult for young Saini to keep his place in the team.
