Due to the destruction caused by the severe Bulbul Cyclone in the West Bengal region, the city has got a considerable amount of rainfall. It is usually wet in the region in the month of November but the rains have been lashing the eastern metropolis area for few times.

He also said that the pitch is in a very good condition as it has been over the years. Mukherjee also wanted to conduct the pink ball test match on a trial basis on the same wicket. But due to the bad weather conditions, it was not possible.

Now all he hopes is that the pitch helps both the sides and said that this Eden Garden wicket will tangy green and it will offer a true even bounce.

The pink ball arrived at the Eden Gardens a few days ago. But, he is yet to test them on the pitch. When Mukherjee was questioned about this, he said that he will test the ball in the coming few days but also said that it won’t make any difference as the pitch will behave like it has been behaving for test cricket over the years.

India vs Ban 2019 2nd Test Pitch Report – It has been said that the pink ball will move more than the red ball. That is because of the extra lacquer on the pink ball which doesn’t go fast. That is the only noticeable difference between the pink and the red ball. The bounces will be similar to the red ball and also on the Eden Gardens wicket.

The pitch of the Eden Gardens has drawn some praise from all the corners because the track has more bounce now and it will offer a good contest between the bat and the ball. The top surface of the Eden Garden wicket has been changed after the 2016 test series between India and New Zealand.

This wicket has now become a more pace friendly one which means the Indian pace trio of Ishant Umesh and Shami will exploit more purchases from this surface.
