India Vs Bangladesh Match Preview – Team India

Firm favorites to beat Bangladesh on Tuesday. After being unbeatable at one stage, Kohli and his men will look to seal the semi-final berth on Tuesday itself. Even though India has lost only one match till now but their concerns remain the same. The batsmen need to step up and show intensity while they bat, in the game against England Dhoni and Jadhav showed interest to win the game for India. Their attitude lacked the fighting spirit which is going to make India think ahead of the Bangladesh clash.

India vs Bangladesh Match Preview

India had no answers to England’s good bowling. Every batsman tried hard but none got on top of the England bowlers. Apart from Skipper Virat Kohli and Vice-captain Rohit Sharma, the other batters failed to provide any sort of momentum. Players like Hardik Pandya and Rishab Pant tried but a lot was expected from MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav towards the end which was left unsatisfied. India managed to hit just 1 six against England on Sunday. That was a very poor attack from the batsmen.

India needs to sort the issue out with chasing the scores. A senior member like Dhoni should step in because he has done it for India in the past. His experience will come handy for such occasions. Virat Kohli is the only Indian batsman who has been consistent until now. Apart from his 18 runs against South Africa, the skipper has scored 5 back to back fifty-plus scores in this tournament. Ahead of the semi-finals, Virat will want to score a hundred to his name.

Rohit Sharma who missed out against Afghanistan and West Indies came back strongly against England on Sunday. He looked scratchy at the start and was dropped by Joe Root as well. But he continued to ride luck and played a good knock against a top team. The question of number 4 still remains the same as India is now into their last two of the league matches.

It was a tough ask for Rishab Pant against England but as an International player, he should have been ready for such opportunities. Opportunities like these should be grabbed by a batsman like Rishab Pant. But still, he deserves the next chance. India can still have an extra bowling option of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is fit for this encounter. India was one bowler short against England. Instead of Pant, if Bhuvi had played then it would have been difficult for England to score 337 runs.

As Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal went for runs without picking up a wicket, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s addition would have done better for India. Mohd Shami has been terrific for India. He has picked up 13 wickets in only 3 games. After two 4 wicket hauls, Shami picked up a fifer in the game against England. Jasprit Bumrah too has bowled decently till now and Hardik and Chahal had an off day against England. That’s why the inclusion of Bhuvi is vital according to the team’s perspective.

India vs Bangladesh Match Preview

Team Bangladesh had a good world cup so far. They have done well by beating a top side like South Africa and the West Indies. They also scared Australia in that run chase. But they need to play well against a top quality side and India is one of them. Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mushfiqur Rahim hold the key for Bangladesh in this match. These batsmen are consistent performers for their team and the onus will be on them to score the runs.

Other players like Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar and Mahamudullah needed to bat around the top 3 of the Bangladeshi lineup. The middle order needs to be consistent as this will be a do or die match for the Bangla Tigers. For them, it wouldn’t be easy to face Shami, Bumrah and the duo of KULCHA. Bangladeshi have a huge task in front of them. Bowlers too won’t find it easy to face players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and MS Dhoni. The bowlers will have their task cut out in their game against India.

Mustifizur Rahman and Saifuddin will hold the key for Bangladesh with the ball. India and Bangladesh faced each other in the warm-up match at Cardiff. This is the match where MS Dhoni and KL Rahul scored their centuries. Rahul scored 108 runs and MSD smashed 113 runs. India scored a mammoth score of 359 runs in their 50 overs. Bangladeshi batsmen couldn’t even reach the 300 run mark they were bundled out for just 264 runs. This was an easy win for India.
