India vs New Zealand 2020 2nd t20 playing 11 – India started its Tour of New Zealand in quite some style. Their performance with the bat was just superb. The men in blue made a target of 204 runs very easily with the vital contributions of Kohli, Rahul, and Iyer.
But now, this series will be even tougher as New Zealand will want to make a comeback and level this series to 1 all. The 2nd T20 International Match will be played on Sunday, 26th January 2020. The venue for this T20 International will be the same and will be played at the Eden Park in Auckland.

India batted well in that run chase, that too, without any significant contribution from Rohit Sharma. India chased down the total with an over to spare. Rohit, who contributed just 7 runs in the innings will look to make a mark in the 2nd match of this five-match series.
It was the partnership between KL and Skipper Kohli which helped India to bounce back from that early loss of Sharma. KL batted well, but missed a big opportunity to convert that start into a three-figure mark. He couldn’t stay to finish the game.
India vs New Zealand 2020 2nd t20 playing 11 – This will certainly bother Rahul’s mind ahead of the second game on Sunday. Now Rahul will have to look to convert those starts into a hundred. Rahul’s first and only T20 Ton came against West Indies in a losing cause at Florida. He batted at the number 4 position then, but now, he is the opener for this series and that is why he has the time to convert the starts into a big one.

Although Virat was out at the wrong time, he batted well in the stiff run chase. But when he was out at a wrong time, the pressure was all transferred on the young Iyer and Dube. Kohli should look to add another feather in his cap. Now, the Indian skipper should look to finish the innings. In the past, Kohli has taken India closer to the totals but there are very few occasions when he guided his team through the finishing line. Instead of finding finishers, from now on Kohli should aim to that job himself. This will be easy for Kohli because he has batted for long and will be set to do the job right. Kohli needs to play an innings just like he did at Trivandrum against West Indies a few weeks ago.
India vs New Zealand 2020 2nd t20 playing 11 – Dube’s batting experiment didn’t work so well. India shouldn’t try all this at the start of the series. Dube was good with the ball which is why India needs Dube as a bowler first and then as a batsman. Dube can be promoted as a batsman after India wins the series against New Zealand.
The bowling which took a lot of pasting should come good on Sunday. India will have to replace Shardul Thakur with Navdeep Saini as Thakur wasn’t that impressive. He proved to be an expensive bowler along with Shami. The addition of Navdeep Saini will add depth in India’s bowling. His accuracy will also be more effective than Thakur.
Shami looked off coloured on Friday. But he will need to make a comeback in the next match. Shami has been brilliant for India since the time he started to play for India again. He is the main spearhead alongside Bumrah and will be the trump card for India in the World T20 as well.
India vs New Zealand 2020 2nd t20 playing 11 – Chahal and Jadeja bowled well but India should look in to sneak Kuldeep Yadav in. They can certainly try this combo of three pacers and three spinners for the second match. If Kuldeep plays, then Dube will have to sit out and it would be harsh on him. But, India needs to find ways to play the combo of KULCHA. This Jodi has been effective in the past and if New Zealand shares a big stand like the Munro and Guptill or Williamson and Taylor, then the duo of KULCHA can break it through. The stats do suggest that the performance of Kuldeep is better with Chahal. So the team management should look to get both the spinners in.
India vs New Zealand 2020 2nd t20 playing 11 Preview – Probable XI of Team India
Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd Shami, Yuzendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah.
New Zealand will look to bounce back in the second match of this series. Their batsmen batted well but were 20 to 25 runs short of the target which they had already set. The likes of Guptill and Munro will have to put another great show as they did on Friday. But they should also convert their starts into big scores.
Both their openers failed to do that in the 1st match. Then their skipper, Kane Williamson too did the same and as a result, the target was just 204 runs. Instead of that, the hosts could impose a much more daunting task in front of the Indian batsmen. They also lost wickets in the middle which is another reason why the Kiwis couldn’t post a mammoth total even after a good start.
India vs New Zealand 2020 2nd t20 playing 11 – Grandhomme should not be promoted up the order. The number 4 spot belongs to Ross Taylor. He too played a good knock and stayed unbeaten till the end. But he couldn’t give that finishing kick which New Zealand needed. Grandhomme has to do that job in the matches to come.
Seifert is still inexperienced so it will be a good option if Santner handles that finishing role for New Zealand. But New Zealand will need Santner more as a bowler. His bowling looked decent but it did not win them the match.
They created some impacts by picking up Rohit early and the bowlers also broke the partnership between Rahul and Kohli. But, they couldn’t get Shreyas Iyer out, which is why New Zealand lost the 1st match of the series.
The bowlers will have to start well but they should pick up regular wickets to hamper India’s progress in the match. Ish Sodhi was the only stand out bowler but the others need to step up as well.
India vs New Zealand 2020 2nd t20 playing 11 Preview – Probable XI of Team New Zealand
Colin Munro, Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Tim Seifert, Daryl Mitchell, Tim Southee, Hamish Bennett, Tom Bruce and Ish Sodhi.
The 2nd match of the series will be played at the same venue, same pitch and against the same opponent. Will it make any difference for New Zealand? Can the Black Caps level the series?
The answers will come to us on Sunday 26th January 2020. Live telecast will be shown on Star Sports Networks and live streaming will also be available on HOTSTAR mobile application. The match will start at 12:20 PM IST.
