India vs Qatar Football Match Result – The match that took place on Tuesday 10th September, 2019 in Doha for the World Cup 2022 Qualification was going to be India’s most difficult match in their qualifier round. The Indian team got up by 1 goal but ultimately lost to Oman after their 2 conceding quick goals. After a disappointing performance at their home country it looked like a near impossible task to put up a show against Qatar, who is the Asia Cup champions and the hosts of the 2022 World Cup.

FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers – The Indian defence gave everything they had in themselves for a clean sheet. Sunil Chhetri had to leave the ground because of fever, and was substituted in the first half itself. The captain arm band was passed on to India’s goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu who recently got awarded the Arjuna Award. Gurpreet put up a goalkeeping master class as he saved uncountable number of shots from the Qatari forwards, most notable the captain of Qatar national team Al-Haydos.

India vs Qatar Football Match Result – The inspirational performances from Gurpreet motivated other players to put on their best show and they did. The Indian defence was more organised, and were defending the long balls properly. Qatar’s forwards were also having an off day as many chances and crosses couldn’t find a man in the middle. India was quick on counter attacks throughout the game which were lead by the winger Udanta Singh. He was pacy and technical with the ball with one of his curled shot just grazing over the top post.

India vs Qatar Football Match Result – The draw is not a big result when it comes to the table as India now sits at 3rd in the table out of 4 places, with 1 point in 2 games. Qatar top the group stage with 4 points in 2 games. The first spot of this group stage will directly qualify to the World Cup with the second spot having to play more set of qualifiers.

Sunil Chhetri tweeted saying that he was proud of his team and all the fans should commend them as this is a big achievement in the history of Indian football and this will motivate them to get even better results in the future.
