India vs South Africa 2019 3rd Test Match Highlights – Team India continued their dominance at home. Virat and his men have won the 3 match test series 3-0 against the poor South African side which failed to compete in all the three departments.
Even after enforcing follow on, the visitors failed to raise their batting bar. India shot out South Africa for just 162 runs in the 1st innings and after the follow on, the visitors were bundled out for just 133 runs which gave India a series win by an innings and 202 runs.
South Africa lost 8 wickets on Day 3 itself. The top order was out in single-digit scores and the lower order resisted with the contribution of Linde and Piedt. They scored 30 and 23 respectively. With just 132 runs on board and just 2 wickets in hand, the visitors came out to bat on day 4.

De Bruyn and Anrich Nortje were the not out batsmen from Day 3. De Bruyn was a substitute for Dean Elgar. Umesh Yadav’s deadly bouncer injured Elgar after which he was retired hurt and never returned to bat.
In Elgar’s place, Theinus de Bruyn batted well for his 30 runs while Nortje was on 5 runs. But on the day 4 morning, both the batsmen were out to the debutant spinner of Ranchi. Shabaz Nadeem was the bowler who picked both the two wickets in the span of 12 balls.

South Africa isn’t that bad a team which played in India on this tour. The visitors were once again rattled by the Indian bowlers. The day 3 was completely dominated by the spin duo of India.
Although South Africa included Henrich Klaasen and Zubayr Hamza in their batting line up, their batsmen were not on the mark against the Indian bowlers. They failed to read the line and lengths bowled by the Indian bowlers.

With Du Plessis and Zubayr Hamza batting at the crease, it didn’t take long for the Indian bowlers to make an impact. Umesh Yadav continued his good form and removed the South African skipper before he could frustrate the Indian bowlers. South Africa had no Maharaj this time and Philander was also dropped from the side, which proved costly for the visitors.

He was the first one to depart for just 5 runs. Dean Elgar, the man in form for South Africa was also hit by a ferocious bouncer by Umesh Yadav so he had to retire hurt in unfortunate circumstances. He retired hurt and got just 16 runs.
Zubayr Hamza who batted so well in the first innings was for a duck. Then Skipper Faf Du Plessis followed him with Temba Bavuma and Klaasen. South Africa lost the wickets in a heap and that allowed the Indian bowlers to be on the top position after the 3rd day’s play.
