The South African team has not toured this badly in any nation as they have in India this time around. This South African team looked clueless without the big names of AB De Villers, Hashim Amla, Dale Steyn and Jacques Kallis.

They have drawn three test matches only because of the four big names which are mentioned above. The Proteas needed a strong fight in Pune to have made the series 1 all. But, a poor batting and bowling display from South Africa made them lose the series. They are currently trailing by a 2-0 margin and now can be whitewashed 3-0 by the dominating Indians.

India vs South Africa 2019 3rd Test Match – This will be the very first time that South Africa would be whitewashed and to avoid that, they will have to come out good as a team. Their spinners were taken for runs and their fast bowlers too couldn’t make an early impact.

Now, South Africa will be without Aiden Markram and Keshav Maharaj. They both have been injured and ruled out of the third and final test match at Ranchi. But their presence too didn’t affect South Africa so much.

India vs South Africa 2019 3rd Test Match – Markram didn’t bat too well as an opener. His struggle to score runs made South Africa look vulnerable many times. He bagged a pair in the second test match at Pune but South Africa doesn’t have a specialist opener in their squad any longer. Temba Bavuma will be sent in as an opener but his batting form is going to be a concern for the visitors.

India vs South Africa 2019 3rd Test Match – Dean Elgar scored a fine century in the 1st innings of the first test match which was played at Vizag. But, he has not converted his starts after that innings. Elgar will want to be more eager to get that big hundred which almost saved the day for South Africa.

Skipper Faf du Plessis might bat at number 3 in Ranchi. Many experts feel that it is the right batting number for the South African skipper. His fighting 55 runs in the 1st innings were good but he should score those big hundreds when the team is in need. After that 55 run knock, the skipper has been silent with the bat. But now, at a new batting number, Faf should end this series on a good note.

India vs South Africa 2019 3rd Test Match – Quinton De Kock was also good at Vizag. But again, like his teammates, he threw his wicket away. He needs to play a long inning just like he did in the first innings of the 1st test match. De Kock showed that he can play long innings. Now in this crunch situation, South Africa will want their keeper batsman to step up.

Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander looked too shabby in the two test matches. But, they are good bowlers for South Africa. They will have to make an early impact on the Indian Batsmen at Ranchi. They are the ones who have taken the game away from the Proteas.

This is the right time for someone like Lungi Ngidi to step in. If South Africa wants to avoid the whitewash embracement then Ngidi should find a place in the playing XI of South Africa. Ngidi can be the X factor for the visitors which they really need right now.

India vs South Africa 2019 3rd Test Match – Dane Piedt and Muthusamy will be the spinners for this last test match. But their performances with the ball have not been impressive in the test series so far. George Linde has been added as Keshav Maharaj’s replacement.

South Africa will have to drop Anrich Nortje for the last test match. This will be harsh on the debutant but South Africa needs to put up a fight and win this 3rd test match to avoid the 3-0 whitewash.

Team India has ticked all the boxes in this test. The openers are in good form. Rohit Sharma who missed out in the 2nd test match will want to grab another opportunity of scoring a ton while Mayank Agarwal has already been one of the best openers. He has scored a double century and a hundred to his name in this series.

India vs South Africa 2019 3rd Test Match – King Kohli was sublime in the 2nd test match at Pune. His unbeaten 254 run knock was enough to beat South Africa by an innings and 137 runs. This was the venue where India lost their opening match against Australia in 2017. But, they came back strongly to register a famous win and also led the 3 match test series 2-0.

Pujara and Rahane too contributed well in the 2nd test match. They both scored 58 runs each and gave a good company to Mayank earlier and then to Kohli. They are the middle order pillars for India in the longer version of the game. They will have a role to play in this last test match too.

India vs South Africa 2019 3rd Test Match – Ravindra All rounder Jadeja has come good as an all-rounder in all the three formats. India dropped him after the final of the ICC Champions Trophy game against Pakistan in 2017. He wasn’t a part of the one day as Chahal and Kuldeep were going strong at that time.

But Jaddu used the limited opportunities and made them count. Now Jadeja is the backbone of team India across all the formats. Jadeja has been sensational with the bat and ball. He is a player to watch out for from the Indian side for this 3rd and final test match at Ranchi.

R Ashwin came good as a bowler in both the test matches. He was the one who was successful in putting the brakes on South Africa’s scoring at Pune. Ashwin’s heroics with the ball was the highlight of this series win for India. He is an asset for India in the test matches.

India vs South Africa 2019 3rd Test Match – Umesh Yadav had a good comeback in the test side. Now, Umesh will have to continue his good work. Yadav found a place inside because of Bumrah’s injury. But when Jasprit Bumrah is fit then it will be difficult for Umesh to be in the side. So, he will have to keep bowling well to make a good impression on the team management, selectors and the captain.

Ishant Sharma has been bowling well but unlucky not to pick up wickets. Still, he needs to try and make the impact which he is known for.
