India vs West Indies 2nd T20 Match 2019 – West Indies Tour of India has started on a good note as both the teams had a hard-fought battle in Hyderabad. But India was too good and won the 1st T20 International match by 6 wickets. Now West Indies will look for a comeback in the series at Thiruvananthapuram. The 2nd T20 International match will be played at Greenfield International Stadium on Sunday 08th December 2019.
This will be a series-deciding match where both the teams will focus on their bowling and fielding issues. India and West Indies bowled very poorly in the game at Hyderabad. India’s fielding was also woeful as they dropped five catches in the 1st T20 International Match.
India vs West Indies 2nd T20 Match 2019
India won that match purely because of the King of International Cricket. Virat Kohli scored magnificent unbeaten 94 runs which allowed the hosts to seal the 1st Match by 6 wickets and 8 balls to spare. But the bowling will worry India ahead of the series decider.
Washington Sundar who bowled well before this series wasn’t at this best. His 1st over of the match was taken for the cleaners by Evin Lewis. Generally, Sundar bowls some good line and lengths but yesterday he was wayward and kept bowling short deliveries which the Windies batsmen pounced on.
India vs West Indies 2nd T20 Match 2019 – Deepak Chachar too was not good at all. He didn’t repeat his heroics which he did against Bangladesh at Nagpur. He too was short in the lengths he bowled and that’s why he also leaked runs. Shivam Dube will need more experience to bowl on flat surfaces. He too looked an ordinary bowler.
For Bhuvi his comeback game wasn’t that nice, he looked ordinary bowler in the 1st match. India should try Mohd Shami for the last two matches of the series. We all know what Shami has done with the red ball. If he continues his form with the white ball, then Shami can single-handedly hammer the West Indies batting line up.
India leaked runs at the start and the death overs of the innings. So, having Shami will be a better idea than having Dube. It will be unfair to drop Dube but if the team needs to win the series then this tough decision will have to be taken.
India vs West Indies 2nd T20 Match 2019 – India can also bring in Kuldeep Yadav in place of Washington Sundar. Kuldeep and Chahal, have also been dominating against The Windies. These two as partners have done well in India and against West Indies.
There nothing much to talk about the batting as Kohli himself led the team from the front. But there was also a contribution from KL Rahul. He and Kohli steadied the ship after Rohit Sharma was out early in the innings. Rahul was the one who took the responsibility of scoring quick runs when the skipper struggled to time the ball at the start. KL scored useful 62 runs but he needs to convert the start and get to another T20 International hundred. From now KL should look to be consistent and provide good starts in the innings.
India vs West Indies 2nd T20 Match 2019 – The Windies will hope for a turn-around. They batted well and were successful in putting the pressure on the Indian bowlers. They will need someone like Fabian Allen and Keemo Paul in the playing eleven.
These two are handy all-rounders which will help the team in the deciding match of the series. They will have to drop Keserick Williams and Hayden Walsh from their squad for the 2nd T20 International Match. They also can replace Dinesh Ramdin. Instead of Ramdin, Nicholas Pooran will be a better option.
Lendi Simmons can bat number 4 and Brendon King should open the innings with Evin Lewis. They both were destructive against the India pace bowlers and the spinners at Hyderabad. The form of Shrimron Hetmyer was good yesterday but he will need that form to be consistent.
India vs West Indies 2nd T20 Match 2019 – Kieron Pollard and Jason Holder will have to do more of the bowling and complete their quota of four overs because other than Sheldon Cottrell none of the WI bowlers were on the mark. They allowed Kohli to set and paid a heavy price for it. Only Sheldon Cottrell was economical in yesterday’s game. He will the player to watch out for again the second T20 International at Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday evening. The inclusion of Allen and Paul might solve the bowling issues for West Indies.
