India Vs West Indies third ODI expected XI

Coming back to India Vs West Indies third ODI expected XI, come Friday and the Indian cricket team will be back in action against the West Indies for the third ODI of the series. With the first two ODIs providing us absolute crackjackers, run fests that left us on the edge of our seats, the third is expected to run along the same script when two of the most fearless batting sides clash against each other.

The second ODI was what dreams are made of. Powered to 321 by Virat Kohli’s heroics that saw him become the fastest ever player to reach 10,000 ODI career runs, West Indies also scored 321 on the back of Hope’s and Hetmyer’s hitting. It was an incredible match of cricket, one that saw both sided put on an admirable effort with a draw a more than fair result for what was an amazing game of cricket.

Riding high on their momentum of clean striking, both sides will go into the third ODI in Pune with the same approach. Score high and try to bowl your way to victory has been the mantra for both the sides this series. And keeping that in mind, the BCCI decided to bring back India’s pivotal pace duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah back to the Indian attack.

We expect the pair to be drafted straight back into the playing XI come Friday as India look to bolster a pace attack that has been taken to the rafters till now. Both Kumar and Bumrah have the uncanny ability of troubling batsman and posing questions to them with their immaculate line and length. Their expertise and guile to bowl in batting friendly conditions is the need of the hour of India and their introduction to the attack will help once again add stability to the India bowling unit.

With these making a return to the line-up, Umesh Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed will most likely be left on the bench. India’s combination of 2 pacers and 3 spinners should remain the same with JadejaKuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal offering the spinning options.

While India will tinker with their bowling attack, the batting line-up will remain unshuffled. Both the top and middle orders have come through when needed in the series and the team management will be looking to stick with the same formula.

For the West Indies, the ODI series has been a huge turnaround in form from the test series. From a side that struggled to even reach 200 in the test series, West Indies have completely transformed their game. Their fearless approach while batting has paid rich dividends for them, seeing them rake up massive totals of 300 on two occasions.

An area for concern for the West Indies though is that apart from Hetmyer and Hope, the rest of the batting line-up still looks jaded. Come Friday, their batting attack will need to shoulder more responsibility on its shoulders. After all, the likeliest way for West Indies to beat India is to out bat them.

Expected XI For India:

Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, Rishabh Pant, MS Dhoni (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah
