All about India women Cricket squad announced for England ODIs.
The women’s selection committee has reposed their faith in the same bunch of players that enjoyed a successful visit to New Zealand, naming the exact same 15 member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England at home. The women’s side will begin their sojourn against England on February 22 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in a series that will eventually culminate on February 28. All matches will be played in Mumbai and will begin at 9:00 am.
Earmarking their plans for the ODI world cup to be contested in 2021, the selectors and team management have zeroed in on a select group of players who they are confident about and possess the skills to take the country to glory at the marquee event. Reserving their place in the national setup is the same group of players that took the side all the way to third place with 12 points in the ICC Women’s series on the back of a series triumph in harsh New Zealand conditions.
For India, the England series hold massive consequences in ensuring they qualify directly for the world cup. A series win will further consolidate their position in the table and throttle them further ahead of closest rivals Pakistan. For India, coming out on top against England is more so important with the side set to forfeit their clash against Pakistan in the near future in the backdrop of the dastardly attacks perpetrated by Pakistan on the Indian army. Deciding to give that encounter a skip will see Pakistan gain 6 points while India will be awarded 0.
The team combination for India will see them once again rely heavily on their top order of Mandhana and Kaur while on the bowling front the onus will once again lie on the spin twin of Yadav and Sharma to incur a batting collapse in the English line-up.
Along with the team for the 3 ODIs, the BCCI have also announced the side that will play a solitary warm-up match against England in the build-up to the series. The warm-up playing side sees fresh new faces being included as the BCCI looks to award and try out the upbringing players.

The two sides will also participate in a three-match T20 series after the culmination of the three-match ODI series beginning March 4. The squad for that series is yet to be released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
