Ahead of the Indian Premier League 2019 auction reportedly expected to take place in the third week of December, a mid-season trading window was introduced in cricket’s biggest T20 league for the first time ever. Spicing up things in the IPL, the mid-season transfer window opened from September to November allowed teams to retain trade and shift players out of their squads in a bid to strengthen their teams to the fullest ahead of the tournament which will commence in April of 2020.

The mid-season trading window saw teams free up funds and overseas player spots along with increasing their available salary caps, which will play a vital role in the player auctions that will see team owners and management tussle it out with one another to sign the best players in the business.
