1.  Suresh Raina
Virat Kohli and him, trudged it out for the number 1 spot last season with Raina managing to pip Kohli to the top spot by 37 runs. In 176 matches, Raina has stepped out to the crease 172 times to score overall of 4,985 runs for the Chennai Superkings. He’s been an important component of his side that have gone onto lift 3 titles over the years, the most recent one in the last edition in 2018.

2. Virat Kohli
The mainstay of Royal Challengers Bangalore batting line-up, Virat Kohli’s immense cricketing abilities and skill set as a batsman can be garnered from the fact that he managed to outdo the likes of Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, players who are known for their pure, raw hitting in the T20 format.

Kohli in 13 innings lesser than Raina has amassed 4,948 runs and also boasts of the highest individual score of the top 5 batsmen with an innings of 113. His average of 38.35 is impressive and helps showcase his quality of going on unbeaten once he gets a good start.Highest Run Getters In IPL

3. Rohit Sharma
The Mumbai Indians skipper showmanship with the bat has emerged in recent times to make him one of the most devastating names in the circuit. He’s been a reliable asset for his franchise, ensuring that his team is guaranteed a good start more often than not.  With 1 century and 34 half-centuries to his name, Rohit has a total of 4,493 runs in 173 matches.

4. Gautam Gambhir
Although he has the least strike rate out of any batsmen in the top 5 highest run getters, Gambhir was a name who could always be relied on to deliver the goods. Known for taking the onus on himself when the stakes were high, Gambhir was a crucial component of his side’s batting line-up.

Gambhir took on bowlers in only a manner he could. Gambhir was known for building an innings with caution before freeing his arms and launching into spinners and pacers in the same fashion. His retirement earlier this year spells the end of not only a great IPL career but also brings the curtains down on the innings of the might of Indian cricket.

5. Shikhar Dhawan
He’s plied his trade around a hoard of franchisees over the year with 2019 seeing him being traded by the Sunrisers Hyderabad to Delhi. Although not the most consistent of batsmen, Dhawan has amassed a good amount of runs in front of his name with 4,058 runs. He faces still competition from the likes of MS Dhoni and Chris Gayle though who are snapping right on his heels.
