Indian Team for West Indies Tour 2019- India’s squad for the tour of West Indies has been announced by the Board of Control Cricket in India. India has rested Hardik Pandya for the whole tour. While the duo of KUL-CHA has been made to sit out of the 3 match T20I series. Both the spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal will not feature in the shortest format. They have been replaced by Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar in the squad.
There is no Vijay Shankar too. He hasn’t been picked up in any of the squads which will tour to West Indies. Vijay sustained an injury during the world cup matches. Wriddhiman Saha too makes a comeback into the test side. He will be playing alongside Rishabh Pant. Saha played his last test match in cape town, South Africa in 2018. He was out of the test team due to an injury. Kedar Jadhav has been retained in the ODI squad of the Windies tour. Kedar has managed to keep captain Kohli and the team management happy. But, he will have to make up for his low performances from the world cup. He needs to use the limited opportunities that he will get. Shreyas Iyer and Manish Pandey too, have been drafted into the ODI side. The search for India’s number 4 batsman will continue in this tour as well.
Rishab Pant will bat at number 5 in the absence of MS Dhoni and Iyer can be the perfect choice for the number 4 batsman. Navdeep Saini and Rahul Chahar will make their debuts in the tour to West Indies with Khaleel Ahmed who will replace Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah has been rested for the limited-overs series which will start from August 3rd 2019.
