Indian Team Received Threat Mail – At Present, Team India is on the tour of West Indies where they still need to play their inaugural match of the ICC Test Championship. This match will start on Thursday, 22nd August 2019 at Antigua.

On Friday, 16th August, an unknown mail was sent to the Pakistani Cricket Board saying that the Indian cricket team who are in West Indies are under a threat of attack.

This terror threating mail was immediately forwarded by the Pakistani Cricket Board to the India Cricket Board (Board of Control Cricket in India). The BCCI has confirmed that they received the mail within 24 hours.

Next day, On Saturday the Board conveyed this situation to the Home Union Ministry and also contacted the Indian Embassy which is in Antigua. Then, the Indian Embassy called the Director-General of Police in Maharashtra Mr. Subodh Jaiswal in Mumbai.

On Sunday The BCCI told Times of India about the mail which contained a message to kill the Indian cricketers. The security of the Indian team has been stepped up and the Home ministry along with the Mumbai Police have been informed about this terror threating mail, BCCI CEO, Rahul Johri told the media yesterday.

But, there was no response by the International Cricket Council on this whole issue. When TOI spoke to a senior official of the Pakistan Cricket Board, he said that the Board does not comment on safety and security issues. But many believe this mail is a hoax because the mail has mentioned some random names and it was proved to be a bogus mail. Our Indian team is safe in the West Indies.
