Being asked to bat first by West Indies, India lost opener Shikhar Dhawan early. This was a huge pick for the West Indies team given the form Dhawan has been in since the last 2 months. Captain Virat Kohli also departed quickly, with the West Indies bowling unit tightening things up for India with some wonderful bowling. Opener Ajinkya Rahane(72) once again justified his selection in the team as he went to hit another half-century as he and Yuvraj Singh stabbed the Indian innings.MS Dhoni was again showed why he’s considered one of the coolest customers in world cricket as he played calm and composed innings in a pressure situation. Jason Mohammed (40) and Rovman Powell (30) looked good for a brief period but nothing that would suggest that they would have taken the match away from the visitors. With 5 down for 87 in the 20th over, the game was all but finished for the West Indies.Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav spun India to victory as the West Indians were unable to play their tricky bowling. Both ended up picking three wickets as the West Indian team was bundled for only 158.

MS Dhoni was adjudged the man of the match for his outstanding innings on a difficult wicket. India will play the fourth match of the series on the same ground on July 2.
