The Andheri Sports Complex witnessed a gem of a performance by the Indian side in the Intercontinental Cup. Playing under a thunderous downpour, both the teams found things tough in the beginning but the match soon grew into its pace. It were the hosts who had the upper hand in the opening minutes of the match as they attacked relentlessly, testing the Indian defence with each passing minute. Their ability to kill off their chances though cost them as India oversaw the initial assault on their back line to hit back with their own offense. An evenly matched first half ended fairly with the score tied at 1-1 after 45 minutes.

The second half was an entirely different tale though with India starting in an altogether different fashion. It still took them till the 68th to take the lead after Chhetri converted a penalty to score in his record breaking 100th game. It was only moments later that Jeje doubled the lead for the home nation with Chhetri rightly rounding off the scoring with a marvellous chip in added time to end the game at 3-0.
