Born and Education
Jaan Kumar Sanu was born on 16 April 1994 in Kolkata, West Bengal. and currently living in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His real name is Jayesh Bhattacharya. He completed his schooling from Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School, Mumbai, and graduation from Kolkata University. Since childhood, he was very interested in music and singing.
Family Background
Jaan is the son of Kumar Sanu who is a legendary singer. Jaan lives with his mother, Rita Bhattacharya. His parents git divorced back in 1994. His stepmother’s name is Saloni Sanu.

Career
For Jaan, it was not easy to start his career in singing as he was worried that he may have to follow the footstep of his father. However, he made a big debut in the industry. When he was 10, he released an album titled “Tomra Shunbe Toh” for which he was named in Limca Book of Records as the youngest singer. In 2002, he launched a debut album, “Tomra Shunbe Toh” and debut Hindi song, “Escape from Taliban”. In 2006, Sanu participated in a reality TV show Rin Mera Star Superstar. In 2008, he debuted as a singer for a song, ‘Shorger Chaabi’. In 2018, Jaan launched the recreated song, Dil Mera Churaya Kyun. In 2020, Kumar released his single, ‘Tu Sandali’. Jaan has also participated in many live concerts and stage shows. His first single was launched on YouTube named, ‘Tu Sandali’.

Once in an interview, Jaan revealed that his nickname is Jaan. People in the industry knew him by that name. Since he is following his father’s footsteps, he decided to take this name.
