Coming back to CSK vs SRH Qualifier 1 IPL match highlights, Winning the toss and opting to bat first, SRH got off to a disastrous start after Dhawan was clean bowled of the first ball by Chahar. A surprisingly bowler friendly pitch which offered plenty of swing and turn was used perfectly by Chennai’s bowlers who kept striking at regular intervals to dent SRH’s innings. The departure of their reliable captain Williamson looked to be the end of SRH’s hopes in the first qualifier before Carlos Braithwaite took matters in his own hands. The West Indian went berserk in the last few overs of the match, taking a particular liking to Chahar who he smashed around the park. Hs 43 off 29 was just what SRH needed going into the second innings of the match.

Defending 140, SRH knew that the task at hand was easily achievable given their immensely talented bowling line-up who had defended even lesser earlier in the tournament. And they looked on course to do just that after 6 of CSK’s batsmen went back to the hut without even reaching single digits. Rashid Khan was the star of SRH’s defence, spinning a web for CSK’s batsmen, trapping everyone who came his way. His spell of 2-11 off his 4overs which saw him bowl 14 dot balls looked to have all but sealed the win for his side. However South African skipper Faf du Plessis wasn’t going to let go of this golden chance so easily. On a tough pitch he played with exquisite ease to score an unbeaten 60 and rightfully hit the winning runs with a huge six of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
