IPL 2018 match review : Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals Match Review
Giving you IPL 2018 match review of Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals, it is a fresh start of the season for Delhi Daredevils but they have failed to change their fortunes in the current edition of Indian Premier League. This was a second successive loss in a row but the franchise has tried to put up a brave face in front of the fans as they called their defeat to Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday as a tough night. In addition to this, the franchise owners are hopeful of a better performance against Mumbai Indians on Saturday.
Coming back to the IPL 2018 match review, Rajasthan Royals beat Delhi Daredevils by 10 runs in a rain-marred clash at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. Delhi were set a revised target of 71 in 6 overs after Rajasthan managed to score 153/5 in 17.5 overs before rain halted the innings. However, Delhi got off to a really bad start as Munro was run-out by the wicketkeeper. Maxwell and Rishabh Pant tried to get the Delhi chase on track and the duo hit some wonderful boundaries as well but Maxwell could not last long as he edged a Ben Laughlin delivery straight into the wicketkeeper’s hands. Pant’s innings was also cut short by JavdevUnadkat thanks to a brilliant catch by K Gowtham on the on-side boundary. Chris Morris hit a four and six off the last two deliveries but it came a bit too late as Rajasthan recorded their first win of the season with the help of Duckworth and Lewis System.
Earlier, batting first, Rajasthan Royals once again got off to a really bad start as opener D’Arcy Short was run out for the second game in a row, without troubling the scorers much. Ben Stokes and skipper Ajinkya Rahane tried to steady the ship but the Englishman innings was cut short by Trent Boult, who scalped his prize wicket for 16. Rahane got good company from Sanju Samson and the duo added fifty-run stand in real quick time. Samson’s innings was ended by spinner Shahbaz Nadeem, who castled him for 34. Nadeem also accounted for the dismissal of Jos Butler as well. This is when the rain arrived at the venue and the sudden downpour forced the players to leave the field with first innings to be halted.
