Coming back to yesterday match RCB vs MI highlights, some cricket experts believe that cricket is not a game of fours and sixes, but Colin De Grandhomme proved this notion wrong as his three sixes off the last over changed the course of the game. RCB were completely on the back foot but that last over made them believe that a win is definitely on the cards. It appeared from the outset that RCB players wanted to prove a point and there was a clear plan in bowling and fielding placements.

Pandya brothers looked threatening in the middle for a while but it wasn’t enough. The poor batting display in the powerplay cost them badly and the scoreboard was not ticking as the wicket was difficult to bat in the second innings. Mumbai Indians season meanwhile refuses to take off. As for them, everything is not over yet as they need to win all of their remaining matches. It is a tough ask but not an impossible one.

This is RCB’s first win versus Mumbai Indians after losing five consecutive matches. The last time before today, they won vs Mumbai Indians was in 2015 and this victory is crucial considering the RCB’s IPL title hopes are very much alive.

Man of the Match: Tim Southee

To sum up things: It was some great death bowling by Southee and Siraj that made all the difference. That is what you can expect from an experienced overseas star to do when it matters the most. Siraj on the other hand, also proved that is he is here to stay for RCB which is good to see.
