IPL 2020 Postponed News -The Corona Virus has not only made people suffer but is now having an impact even on a game like cricket. In wake of the virus spreading around the world, the IPL and the International matches will no longer have spectators on the ground.
This is probably the worst news so far. The IPL 2020 has been postponed till 15th April 2020. Coronavirus is a global concern which is why BCCI members have taken this huge decision.
The franchises are concerned about the IPL even after the postponed date. The earlier date which the IPL should have been started was March 29th, 2020 and is now postponed just by two weeks. The IPL franchises feel concerned about the possibility of playing the IPL matches after this postponement.

The state governments of Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Delhi have already said that they have not granted permission to host the IPL matches in their states. Now with that, there is a possibility of moving the IPL matches away, that is if enough venues are not allotted.
On Saturday, the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly along with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah will meet the IPL franchises and their stakeholders to reschedule the new IPL match dates and venues which will apprise them with the road map ahead.
The Indian sports ministry issued an advisory to the National Sports Federation of India and the BCCI. This advisory clearly states that any public gathering will be hosted as a sporting event in the country. But, the conduct of the IPL cannot be avoided. So, now the IPL 2020 season matches will be played, but behind closed doors without the spectators.

In this advisory, the ministry of external affairs further recommended that BCCI cannot go any further in hosting the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League tournament.
This advisory was followed after the Government of India restricted to give out visas to the Indian players. This decision was taken because of the rapid spread of the coronavirus.
Many other sporting events have been cancelled due to the virus’ effect. Cricket matches in Australia and Pakistan are being played behind closed doors as an extra precaution to prevent the virus.

Due to the spread of the virus, BCCI also called off the last two matches of the India vs South Africa ODI series. With this, the board has also called off the Road Safety T20 Series which was supposed to be played in India.
Other series like the Australia Women tour of South Africa for a T20 series and the World XI vs Asia XI has also been called off as a move to prevent the deadly virus from spreading.
According to the reports as per the World Health Organisation, the Corona Virus has infected a total of 118 nations. 120,000 people have been infected by the virus and the total number of deaths caused due to virus is now around 4,300 worldwide.
In India, 83 people have been laid down with the Corona Virus.
