IPL 2022 Centuries List – The 15th edition of the TATA IPL kicked off on 26th March 2022. It was the first time since the past two years, that the IPL returned to its home. In 2020, the entire tournament had to be shifted to UAE due to the covid outbreak in the country. Last year too, after a couple of matches in India, the tournament again had to be shifted back to UAE. This year though, the world’s toughest league returned to its home with the addition of two new teams. This year’s IPL so far has witnessed some amazing performances.  Hitting centuries is not easy here in the IPL as one is up against the very best in the world. In this article, we take a look at the centurions of TATA IPL 2022.

Jos Buttler – 106* vs RCB

Social media is flooded with praise and criticism after Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets on 27 June 2022. The man of the match, Joss Butler has stunned millions of IPL fans with his tremendous 106 runs innings, putting RCB hopes of winning the IPL 2022 championship title in dust. Butler remained not out throughout the match, chasing down RCB’s 158 runs despite losing three crucial members of his side.

Rajat Patidar – 112 Runs vs LSG

Fans hailed for the super knock of RCB’s Rajat Patidar against LSG as he rescued the team by scoring 112 runs in just 54 balls where he smashed 12 boundaries and 7 super high sixes in turn to take stand in the 3rd position of the highest scores table. 

Quinton de Kock – 140 Runs vs KKR

The South African Cricketer has shattered previous records by marking top in the list of highest scores fixtures. An unbeatable score of 140 runs out off 70 balls against the KKR following 200.00 strike rate saved Quinton in climbing the top of the table.  

Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler has been at the top of his game in TATA IPL 2022 for Rajasthan Royals. The Englishman has so far scored three centuries and is going through a purple patch. He is so far the leading run scorer this season and owns the orange cap with 492 runs from seven games. Buttler is just one century away from breaking Virat Kohli’s record of smashing four centuries in a season. Following are the centuries that have been scored by him so far in TATA IPL 2022:

  • Jos Buttler’s first century of the season came against Mumbai Indians on 2nd April in match no. 9 of TATA IPL 2022. He slammed a brilliant 100 runs from 68 balls with eleven fours and five sixes which powered Rajasthan Royals to victory. He looked in great touch in this match and showed glimpses of what was to come. 
  • His second century came against Kolkata Knight Riders in match no.30 where Jos Buttler made a magnificent 103 runs from just 61 balls. His masterclass included nine fours and five towering sixes. Buttler’s inning was filled with fluency and this helped Rajasthan to win the match. 
  • Buttler then continued his great form and brought up his third century in the very next match for Rajasthan. He scored a career best 116 runs from 65 balls with nine fours and nine sixes each. This helped Rajasthan to register a big win against Delhi Capitals. 

Jos Buttler was earlier retained for Rs 10 Cr by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the TATA IPL 2022 mega auction. He has shown immense ability to hit the ball and has provided those perfect starts which have been extremely crucial for Rajasthan in the season. Rajasthan is currently placed at no. 3 in the points table and the credit must go to Jos Buttler who has displayed top quality batting.

KL Rahul

KL Rahul has led the Lucknow Super Giants from the front in TATA IPL 2022. He has been absolutely brilliant with the bat which had also helped him in his captaincy. Rahul has slammed two centuries in TATA IPL 2022. He is having a love affair with the Mumbai Indians as both of his centuries have come against them. Rahul has scored 368 runs from just eight matches in the season so far and is going through a great run.  He also holds the record for slamming two centuries against the same opponent in a season along with Virat Kohli. Following are the centuries Rahul has scored so far in the season. 

  • Rahul’s first century against Mumbai Indians came on April 16 in match no. 26. He made a unbeaten 103 runs from 60 balls with nine fours and five sixes.  This powered Lucknow to a comfortable win against the five times IPL champions. This innings was filled with class written all over it. 
  • As mentioned earlier, his second century too came against Mumbai Indians on April 24 in match no.37 of the TATA IPL 2022. Rahul again remained unbeaten on 103 runs from 62 balls. He hit twelve fours and four sixes to power his way towards his second century in the season. He led from the front which helped Lucknow register a huge 36 run win. Rahul yet again showed why he is regarded so highly in the T20 format. 

KL Rahul was earlier signed by Lucknow for Rs 17 Cr ahead of the TATA IPL 2022 mega auction. He has clearly valued his price and has shown why he has such a great reputation. Lucknow Super Giants will be hoping that their captain KL Rahul’s run with the bat continues which will benefit them further in the tournament. Lucknow is currently placed at no. 4 in the points table with their captain at the peak of his game.
