IPL records all time – The Indian Premier League is famously known as a cricket festival. This league was started by the Board of Cricket Control in India in 2008 with the purpose to unveil the hidden talents in India and abroad.
The motto of this cricket league tournament is, ‘where talent meets opportunity’. With the introduction of the IPL, India got many new skilled players like Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and many more.
These names are now important in the Indian Cricket Team. They play a vital role in India’s Test, ODI, and T20 International Teams. The IPL gave a platform to many players. These players also got the opportunity to showcase their talent but some players did not perform up to their capacities in this a cash-rich league.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – Zaheer Khan
The first-ever wicket in the Indian Premier League was taken by Royal Challengers Bangalore’s fast bowler, Zaheer Khan. We all remember the first match of the IPL 2008 season where Baz smashed an unbeaten ton against Dravid’s poor bowling attack from RCB. Brendon McCullum scored 158 runs in that match and give KKR a mighty win. But in that match, it was Zak who struck for RCB. Zaheer Khan from India picked the wickets of former Indian Skipper Sourav Ganguly (who was captain of KKR at the time) and the great all-rounder of South Africa, Jacques Kallis.

Kolkata Knight Riders – Ishant Sharma
In the first match of IPL 2008, Kolkata Knight Riders had a big win. In this match, KKR’s fast bowler, Ishant Sharma took the first wicket to dismiss the Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid (who was captain of RCB at the time).

Kings XI Punjab – Brett Lee
The former Australian great pacer, Brett Lee appeared in IPL for Kings XI Punjab in the first season. Lee got the first wicket for Punjab when he dismissed Indian Kid, Parthiv Patel. Parthiv was out when he was caught behind the wickets by Sri Lankan wicketkeeper, Kumar Sangakkara.

Chennai Super Kings – Manpreet Gony
Gony was the first wicket-taker for Chennai Super Kings in the 2008 season of the IPL. He dismissed Karan Goyal who was the opening batsman from the opposing team. The former fast bowler from Punjab also played for the Indian Team in a few matches.
Delhi Daredevils – Glenn McGrath
Glenn McGrath was a fearsome Aussie bowler for all batsmen around the world. He took the first wicket for Delhi by dismissing Taruwar Kohli from Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals – Shane Watson
The former Australian all-rounder, Shane Watson has also featured on this list. He has been the most successful player from Rajasthan Royals who later played for Chennai Super Kings. Watson was a member of both the teams, RR and CSK when they won the titles. He took the first wicket for Rajasthan Royals when he dismissed Delhi Daredevils’ dasher, Virender Sehwag.

Mumbai Indians – Dhawal Kulkarni
This name from the Mumbai Indians camp has now gone for a toss. The local boy of Mumbai, Dhawal Kulkarni, was the first wicket-taker for his franchise team, Mumbai Indians in the first edition of the IPL. He achieved this feat when he dismissed the Windies great batsman, Shivnarine Chanderpaul who was playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore at the time.

Sunrisers Hyderabad – Thisara Perera
This team was earlier known as Deccan Chargers. They won their first IPL title in 2009 under the captaincy of Adam Gilchrist. This team then changed its name to Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013. The Sri Lankan all-rounder, Thisara Perera took the first wicket for the Orange Army in the 2013 season. Perera took the wicket of India’s, Robin Uthappa who played for Pune Warriors India at the time.
