5 Chris Gayle (125)
Having played for Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and now Kings XI Punjab, Chris Gayle has played a total of 125 IPL matches in total but was unable to be a part of the IPL Champions team. After playing for Shah Rukh Khan’s KKR in the 2009 and 2010 season, he was picked up by RCB in 2011. It was in RCB that he showed his true class and hitting ability to the whole world. The “Universe Boss” has 4484 runs to his name in 124 innings while scoring 369 fours and 326 sixes. He holds a record of scoring a mammoth 175 not out in just 66 deliveries.

4 Ajinkya Rahane (140)
Having played in 140 IPL matches so far, the Team India Test Vice Captain has been a part of Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, and two Pune franchises: Pune Warriors India and Rising Pune Supergiant. The closest he came to winning the IPL champions trophy was when he was a part of the Dhoni-led Rising Pune Supergiant which played the finals against Mumbai Indians in 2017 but lost by 8 runs. Out of the 132 innings he has batted in so far, he has scored 3820 runs with a high score of 105 and 2 centuries under his belt. He was traded to Delhi Capitals ahead of the 2020 IPL edition.

3 Amit Mishra (147)
Amit Mishra was originally part of the inaugural IPL’s Delhi Daredevils team in 2008 before moving to Hyderabad in 2011. Interestingly, Deccan Chargers won the IPL trophy in 2009 before Mishra joined in 2009. He was part of the Hyderabad franchise from 2011 to 2014 while Deccan Chargers became Sunrisers Hyderabad. Unfortunately, he had already moved back to his previous team, the Delhi Daredevils, when Sunrisers Hyderabad won the IPL in 2016. As an individual, Mishra holds the record for most IPL hat tricks (3) to his name and is the second-highest wicket-taker (157 wickets) in IPL history behind Lasith Malinga (170 wickets).

2 AB de Villiers (154)
Inspite of scoring the third most number of runs in IPL as a foreigner, ‘Mr. 360 degree’ is yet to win a Champions title. After playing the first three editions of IPL for Delhi Daredevils, de Villiers has played consistently for Royal Challengers Bangalore. His tremendous display of batting for RCB has earned him a special status among his fans. In 154 matches and 142 batting innings, de Villiers has scored a massive 4395 runs at an average of 39.95 with 3 centuries and 33 fifties under his belt. He has scored 357 fours and 212 sixes in IPL so far.
IPL unknown records
1 Virat Kohli (177)
“The Run Machine” tops the list of feats in every format of the game, with an exception to IPL. Although Kohli has huge scores in IPL history under his belt, he has somehow failed to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore to a title win since the IPL’s inception in 2008. Kohli scored almost 1000 runs in IPL 2016 and almost won RCB the title when they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight runs in the final. In 177 matches and 169 innings, Virat has 5412 runs with 5 centuries and 36 half-centuries to his name.
