JNU’s PhD Student Found dead in Hostel Room
The news of Missing student had circulated for three days at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University only to found the boy dead in his Hostel room. The Body was found dead lying on the floor when some students broke into his room, on Tuesday evening.
Jatung Philemon Raja was a research student from Manipur, who studied international relation and had written a chapter in the book, “Persian Gulf 2014: India’s relations with the region”, edited by JNU professor PR Kumaraswamy.
When Students broke into the room, they suspected something wrong and called security guards when they sensed a foul odor from the room. A student said, “His room had been locked for two days. His phone kept ringing and no one answered”.
JNU has also witnessed a huge protest over a mysterious disappearance of another student, namely Najeeb Ahmed. He went missing after a fight with student activists at his hostel. He was beaten up before the day he vanished.
The police have announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh on any information on Najeeb.
