Jummah Mubarak!!
Among the seven days of the week, Friday is the day when Allah’s Special mercies are granted. It is a day of gathering for Muslims and it is believed that the rewards for good deeds of the devout are increased by attending the namaz on this day. Many great events took place on this day, and many are yet to take place.
Friday is considered a special and important day not even in India but all over the world for people of many faiths. It is the Day Adam was created. It is the day when Adam entered heaven and also when he was taken out from it. It shall also be the day of resurrection.
If any Muslim dies on Friday will be protected by Allaah from the trial of the grave. It’s impossible to count Allah’s blessings. Muslims consider it sacred to assemble for religious worship on friday, also known as Jummah, and have strong belief that Allah will make them secure from every crises and also that any sins of their from the Jumuah prayer to the next would be pardoned.
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “On the day of Jummah, the angels stand at the entrance of that masjid in which Jumuah salat is to be offered. They write down the name of the person who enters the masjid first, and thereafter the name of the person who follows, and they continue doing this…
It is believed that the person who enters first for Jumuah noon prayer will receive highest reward from Allah.
People do charity which is also known as “zakaat” on this auspicious day. It’s a strong belief that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, Charity given during the day of Jumu’ah is greater (in reward) than any other day. All muslims take their bath, also known as Ghusl before jumu’ah and it’s considered mandatory for each & every muslim to take Ghusl on Friday and wear clean clothes as also use itr / perfume if they have some before going to the masjid for namaz on Jummah.
Aws ibn Aws narrated that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever performs ghusl on Friday and attends from the beginning of the khutbah and draws near to the Imam and listens to him attentively, Allah will give him the full reward of fasting all the days of a year and observing night-vigil on each of its nights for every step that he took towards the mosque.”
The above is our attempt to describe the importance of Friday in Islam and we have collected information from many sources to put this small article together. Mistakes, if any, may kindly be informed to us and the writer may kindly be pardoned for any inadvertent errors.
