Juventus refuses – After a lot of speculation, Paulo Dybala won’t be coming to Premier League despite being constantly linked with the move to Old Trafford or Tottenham Hotspurs stadium. The Argentine’s transfer was being hyped by the British media for more than a month now and with the transfer market closed, any kind of deal is not possible anymore. According to multiple media outlets, Tottenham Hotspur made an official inquiry for the Juventus forward, Paulo Dybala. The deal would have broken Lillywhite’s previous record, which is currently held by Tanguy Ndombele only recently.
Spurs signed Ndombele from Lyon in the current transfer market for a price of £55m, making the french midfielder their most expensive signing till date. Dybala is valued at £80m by the staff at the Old Lady who is open to creating space in the squad by the departure of the Argentine.
Dybala is one of the brightest stars of World Football. He joined Juventus in 2015 from Palermo for 30 million euros. and has had 78 goals in 182 appearances for the black and whites. But, since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin, Dybala has been compromised, he is not able to have the same impact that he had earlier. From his new position, he scored only 10 goals in 42 matches during the 2018/19 season.
Tottenham is being optimistic that they will be able to land up a deal for the Argentine in the remaining two weeks of the transfer market. The wages for Dybala shouldn’t be a problem as Harry Kane and Dele Alli already earn more wages than him. Pochettino, the current manager of Spurs is a big fan of the forward and has been praising him after the game in Champions League.
This deal was likely to be the summer signing of the season if it had gone through but, Manchester United pulled out from the race as they couldn’t match the high wage for the Argentine. The Spurs couldn’t make a deal as the staff at the old lady decided not to offload the 25-year-old forward.
