Karnataka Teen, Anwar Ali was on his cycle when he was hit and run over by a state-run bus in Koppal, Karnataka. He cried for help while he lay bleeding on the road.
He was offered no help for about 25 minutes, instead was filmed by onlookers.
A Video circulated showed him begging for help, surrounded by his blood. One person offered him water. The 18-year-old was finally rushed to a hospital nearby, where he died.
His brother Riaz stated, “No one came to his help, they were making video and clicking pictures. If someone had cared, my brother could have been saved. More than 15 to 20 minutes were wasted there”.
An unnamed eyewitness told PTI, “People at the spot were shocked and did not know how to help him as the victim was severely injured and was bleeding profusely.”
This is not just one incident of ignorance and negligibility. Three days back, a 38 year old police officer was trapped in the police jeep that collided with a bus. People stopped only to take picture and offered to help in Mysuru.
