It is reported by Police in Indian Administered Kashmir that 30 people have been killed in clashes that held between protesters and security forces following the shooting of a Militant leader, Burhan Wani on Friday.
More than 200 people have been injured in the clash in which government forces fired tear gas. It is the worst violence seen so far in years. Extra troops are being sent to restore order.
Protesters have set police stations and vehicles on fire. One police officer drowned when his armored vehicle was pushed into a river on Sunday.
Within the Muslim- Majority territory, few militant groups have taken up arms to fight for independence from Indian rule or merger with Pakistan.
The issue has been the sparking point which is waging war among both the countries for more than 60 years.
PM Modi will review the situation in Kashmir at a cabinet committee meeting today.
