Uttarakhand Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik said that this year, the Kumbh will be held mainly from March to April. The Uttarakhand government has released Rs 14 crore 29 lakh for the purchase of Covid Care Center, Surveillance System and Medical Systems for Kumbh Mela 2021. An amount of 6.94 crore has been released as the first installment to install surveillance system in Kumbh. The state government has sanctioned 17.34 crore for the surveillance system. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has approved 15.46 crores to make a 1000-bed temporary covid care center in Kumbh Mela.

The dates for the Kumbh Mela 2021 has been announced. This year, Kumbh Mela will start from 14th January, on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. And the first Shahi Snan will take place on 11th March, and the second and third ones on 12 and 14th April respectively. The last and fourth Shahi Snan will be held on 27th April, and on the same day, the Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021 will end.
