  • TVS Group is planning to raise around Rs.350-400 crores by selling up to 20% stake in its logistics and warehousing business at a valuation of Rs.2,000 crores. The group has appointed Avendus Capital to manage the transaction.
  • Tencent Holdings is looking to increase its investments in Indian tech companies. The move comes at a time when its home market, China, is seeing a slowdown in VC investments. Tencent is currently invested in India in companies like Ola, Swiggy, Flipkart, Byju’s and is said to be in talks with MX Player, ShareChat and Policybazaar among others to make further investments.

  • IL&FS has said that it has taken various steps to address debt of over Rs.20,000 crores piled over the past nine months. It has an outstanding debt of Rs.94,216 crores. In October 2018, the government had appointed a new board headed by Uday Kotak.
  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise has plans to invest $500 million in India over the next five years. It will also increase the workforce by around 20 percent over time and start manufacturing in India by December 2019.
  • Jet Airways update – SBI has moved an intervention application against HDFC’s plea claiming rights over a portion of the airline’s BKC property. NCLT has adjourned the matter for 8th August.

  • Drip Capital has raised $25 million in a Series B round of funding led by Accel. Drip Capital uses technology to offer working capital to entrepreneurs and small companies.
  • Uber and Sub Mobility have entered into an agreement to deploy e-three wheelers. As per the arrangement, Sun Mobility will offer its energy infrastructure platform including swappable smart batteries and quick interchange stations to select OEMs for building electric three-wheelers.
  • Reliance Industries has become the top-ranked Indian company to feature in the latest Fortune Global 500 list at a rank of 106. It has improved 42 positions from its previous ranking. Earlier, IOC was the top-ranked Indian firm.

  • The forensic auditors of the Amrapali group have found out that the promoters diverted homebuyers’ funds to pay fees of Rs.42 Crores to Rhiti Sports which manages endorsement rights of MS Dhoni.
  • HDFC Bank has stopped inventory finance to some sellers of Eicher Motors and have asked them to settle dues. The bank said that these dealers are well-capitalized and don’t need bank’s funding.
  • Wipro has announced launch of a global digital product compliance lab in Hyderabad. The lab will offer testing services across various verticals to ensure compliance with international standards.
