Wolves have defeated Manchester City at their home for the first time since 1979. Manchester City despite losing still remains second in the Premier League table but have now dropped 5 points behind league leaders Liverpool having dropped just three in the whole of last season and seven the year before that.

The second for Traore came deep in the injury time, confirming that City will drop all the 3 points from their home game. Pep Guardiola admitted that his players were nervous after the game as they felt that they lost their hopes of winning the Premier League for the third time in a row.
Manchester City vs Wolverhampton – “It was a bad day, sometimes it happens in football” Guardiola said. “We started the game quite well and after we conceded in two situations where our team was in buildup where it’s virtually impossible to defend, we got a little bit nervous. We controlled them better in the second half but at the end, with us attacking and people upfront, we lost possession, Wolverhampton was clinical and punished us for our mistakes. Before that, we hit the post but the way we played was not good. This wasn’t our best day.”
Manchester City vs Wolverhampton – Pep being optimistic of his team said that he knows his players as they will do whatever is possible from their end to decrease the difference in points at the top of the table. Nuno Espírito Santo, the Wolves manager after the game, said: “I am very proud, it was a very good performance.”
This is City’s first home league defeat since losing 3-2 to Crystal Palace on 22 December last year. Now, the manager will need the impending international break to regroup and clear the head of the team.
