Delhi Government schools will have their first Mega Parent Teacher Meeting on July 30.
Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia announced on July 28th a mega parent-teacher meeting which he described as the first positive dialogue between teachers and parents. He has asked parents of 16 lakh student studying in government schools to celebrate the occasion as a festival.
The PTM will be held twice a year. Sisodia said- “We have constituted welcoming teams in schools for the parents so that they feel proud and for this, the government has set aside funds. The timing of PTM will be different in morning and evening shift schools…It is important to communicate the initiatives of Delhi Government in education so that parents utilize these schemes properly” he further adds “We want to make PTMs a regular affair to keep parents in the loop. At this meet, parents can seek details of the performance of their children and get updated with all activities and initiatives taken by the government”
The government is now focusing on improving quality of education through new policies, CCTV, and better infrastructure.
