MI Vs CSK IPL 2019 Final Preview
We finally have the much-awaited final of the invigorating Indian Premier League on our hands. A tournament that enraptured a faithful spectator base across the world for around two months is finally set to draw curtains with one final clash. It’s the Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings in the prestigious summit clash on 12th May, Sunday.
CSK became the latest entrant into the stalwart clash on the virtue of an easy with against the Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets. However, despite the win, the CSK side has not been able to fill in the gaps that have left them with just 3 wins in 8 clashes.
With Shardul Thakur being given just one over, the aberrations in CSK’s pace department are still there for all to see. We have a surface that will see the batsmen score runs at will on a track where the ball will come on nicely onto the bat and finding its way to the fence even more nicely.
CSK also have their middle-order to take a long and hard look at. Watson came good against Delhi but he’s had so many lapses in this season that he just can’t be relied on to do it yet again. Raina has been languishing for form and if Faf falls early, CSK will have to pay the price for their under the sight.

On the other hand, the Indians couldn’t have made the final more comprehensive. A clinical six-wicket win against CSK had seen them make it three straight wins against the Super Kings this season, a performance which had seen them trounce their opposition. With the additional rest days for them, they’ll be a side raring to go and add to their kitty a title they’ve been most deserving of this season.
MI Vs CSK IPL 2019 Final Preview
Rohit Sharma Vs Ravindra Jadeja
One a batting surface that has given us some absolute run feasts across the tournament, the Mumbai Indians know they’ll have to pile on the runs when they come out to bat. And one player they’ll be looking forward to doing that for them is their captain, Rohit Sharma. The opening partnership of him and Quinton de Kock has been the reason for so many of exuberant successes for the Indians this season with the two settings up the perfect platform for the ensuing batsmen to take off from.
What Rohit does have a problem though is against spin, something that the Super Kings have in abundance. While we expect him to safely play out Tahir, having a cautious approach against him, Roth will be inclined to take on Jadeja. Jadeja knows him pretty well and will be looking to make use of his quicker deliverers against Rohit, the ones that will skid of the surface causing Rohit all sorts of problems.
Faf du Plessis Vs Jasprit Bumrah
We had alluded to this battle the last time as well and it features yet again. Such is the massive importance that both these mainstays hold for their side. Faf has been the one batsman who has kept coming up with the runs when his side needs them, the latest a half-century against the Capitals to take CSK all the way to the final.
With Watson’s form way too inconsistent and the Super Kings never sure of if he can deliver on the night or not, Faf’s wicket will be of massive importance to the Indians. This is not the spinning surface that the two played on the last time they met and Rohit will deploy Bumrah in the opening overs against Faf. Bumrah will be cumbersome for Faf to face, someone who can cause carnage in his batting style with the deviation and precise line and length he possesses.
