Mithali Raj News – The former Indian women’s cricket team captain, Mithali Raj has become the first female cricketer to complete 20 years in international cricket. The 36-year-old has achieved this feat as she landed on the field in the first match of the three-match ODI series with South Africa on Wednesday. Raj scored 11 not out in this match which India won by eight wickets.
Mithali, who has opened for India in 204 ODIs so far, started her ODI career against Ireland on 26 June 1999 and has now completed 20 years and 105 days in her 50-over career. In that debut ODI game, Raj scored 114 runs to her name.
Mithali Raj News – Now, she is also the only female cricketer who has played in the ODI cricket for two decades. The Right-handed batsman, Mithali holds the record for most matches played in ODI cricket as well.
She has played 204 ODIs so far, which is the highest ever played by any female cricketer. Mithali is followed by England’s Carlot Edward (191), India’s Jhulan Goswami (178) and Australia’s Alex Blackwell (144).
The former captain Mithali represented India in 10 Tests and 89 T20 matches. She recently retired from the T20 last month and this retirement decision was taken by her to focus on the upcoming 2021 Women’s World Cup. Her aim now is to win the 2021 World Cup for her country.

Mithali Raj News – Mithali’s story is soon going to appear on the big screen. Taapsee Pannu will be playing her character. Mithali herself was not involved in cricket and was lazy since childhood. She used to be picked up by her father in the morning and was taken to the ground so that she would not sleep till late.
The 6-year-old Mithali would go to the ground with her elder brother Mithun at the behest of her father. She also sometimes bowled and bat with plastic or tennis balls. Coach Jyoti Kumar, who was practicing with Mithali’s elder brother on the ground was the first to see Mithali’s talent. After this, she started taking cricket training. At the age of 9, Mithali was selected in the state’s sub-junior tournament. Mithali’s father is of Tamil origin and was an airman in the Dorai Airforce. Her mother, Leela Raj used to work in a private company. Dorai used to play cricket in the Indian Air Force cricket team.
