Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, where he decided to dedicate three Hydro projects with generating the capacity of 1732 MW in Himachal Pradesh.
Modi in his speech also said he felt nostalgic about Himachali cuisine, Kullu Dussehra, and Lord Raghunath.
Himachal Pradesh’s governor, chief minister, Union health minister and power minister were present on the occasion.
All the three power projects — Koldam HEP (4×200 MW) of NTPC, Parbati HEP Stage-III (4×130 MW) of NHPC and Rampur HEP (6×68.67 MW) of SJVN — are equipped with generating equipment supplied and commissioned by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), state-owned BHEL said in a statement on Tuesday.
BHEL is known for its experience in hydro-electric projects and has contracted more than 500 hydro generating sets in India and abroad.
These hydro projects will help more in the reduction of greenhouse gas emission, which helps in achieving a low carbon path.
