Wissam Ben Yedder signs for AS Monaco
Monaco sign Wissam Ben Yedder – AS Monaco has confirmed the signing of the French striker, Wissam Ben Yedder for a fee of 40 million euros from the Spanish club, Sevilla. The striker has returned to his nation after a very long spell on the Spanish soil and this was only possible because Monaco matched the asking price for the 29-year-old. Ben Yedder spent 3 years in Spain and before that he played in Ligue 1 with Toulouse.

Ben has signed a five year deal with the French giants, who got interested by his impressive goal-scoring reputation for bagging 70 goals in 138 games for Sevilla. Ben Yedder addressed the press telling them that he is glad to be associated with Monaco and was thrilled when he came to find out that they were interested in his services. He also thanked the club and the staff for helping him through his journey and said that this move is like a new story for him and he couldn’t wait for the first chapter to start.

Wissam will be a worthy replacement for the Colombian Ballondor nominee, Radamel Falcao at the Stade Loius II who is rumored to be joining Galatasaray. Monaco vice-president, Oleg Petrov said “Wissam Ben Yedder is a player of great talent, a complete striker, who has already proved in Toulouse and Seville, but also in international competitions. He is also a player with an exemplary mentality as he is a purposeful athlete who tries the best to achieve his goals.” The Vice President also said that this transfer has set the tone for the team and will show that Monaco is still a french football powerhouse and that they have a desire to build an ambitious and a successful team for the coming seasons.
