Mumbai Kidney selling Racket

A CEO, Director and three other doctors of a Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai were arrested yesterday on a charge of involvement in the Kidney selling racket.

The total number of arrests rose to 12 in the case of Kidney selling racket.

Last month, the police were warned that illegal Kidney transplants were being done in the Hiranandani Hospital. Police then started with the investigation, following the investigation seven people were arrested in July and five yesterday.

The doctors have been charged under The Transplantation of Human Organ Act, 1994, police said. The accused will be produced in court today.

The names of doctors involved were namely: Dr. Sujit Chatterjee (CEO), Dr. Anurag Naik (Director), Dr. Prakash Shetty, Dr. Mukesh Shete and Dr. Mukesh Shah.
