Munawar Faruqui Biography – Munawar Faruqui became a popular name during his stint in Lock Upp and went on to win the reality show. The standup comedian owns a YouTube channel with 2.9 million followers where “Dawood, Yamraaj & Aurat“, his comedy video went viral. Munawar Faruqui debuted in the entertainment industry with the song “Jawab” in collaboration with an Indian musician Spectra in late 2020.
Munawar Faruqui is going to entertain his fans in yet another reality show! The stand-up comedian is going to participate in the upcoming Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 12.

Munawar Faruqui was born on 28 January 1992 to an Indian Muslim family in Junagadh, Gujarat.
Faruqui along with his family later moved to the city of dreams, Mumbai after 2002.

In the early 20s, Faruqui started working as a Graphic Designer after completing a course in this field.
In 2017, Munawar Faruqui started working as a stand-up comedian.
In July 2019, he gave his first stage performance. It was a Gujarati show Dodh Dahyo held in Malad, Mumbai.
Munawar Faruqui’s first comedy video was Politics in India. He uploaded the video on his YouTube channel on 24 January 2020 and it became a huge hit!

Faruqui started gaining popularity for his sense of humor, writing, and performance skills.
Munawar Faruqui went on to perform for his first ticketed show in Mumbai in February 2020. He lost his father in the same month but still chose to perform for the show.
Munawar Faruqui’s first official video song was out on April 2020 titled “Jawab”. The song received appreciation from his fans.
In the same year, Faruqui released his second Hip hop rap video song in collaboration with Spectra titled “Nagpada ka Rider”.
In 2021, Munawar Faruqui was back with another video music album named “Aazmaish” where Faruqui and Nazz gave their voice to the song. It was released under Munawar Faruqui’s label.
Munawar Faruqui returned with Spectra for a new Rap music named “Dus Lakh”. It turned to be a hit and is available across platform like Spotify, YouTube music, Apple Music, and Jio Saavn.

However, he received a setback when he was arrested on 1st of January 2021. His show in Indore was interrupted by Eklavya Singh Gaur, son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur for cracking malicious jokes about Hindu Deities and Minister of home affairs, Amit Shah.
This incident was criticized and finally a group of South Asian-American stand-up comedians performed a virtual comedy show to show their respect, love, and solidarity towards the jailed Faruqui. Later, the supreme court of India granted him bail.

In the year 2022, Munawar Faruqui’s participated in the reality show, Lock Upp. The reality show which aired on AltBalaji and MX Player, was hosted by Kangana Ranaut. Munawar won hearts of the audience and went on to win the trophy!
In the reality show, Munawar Faruqui revealed that he was married earlier and has a child, but currently the couple is trying to move forward with divorce. He has separated from his ex-wife around 1.5 years back.
Munawar Faruqui will be next seen as one of the contestants in the upcoming season of Fear Factor: Khatron ke Khiladi season 12 hosted by Rohit Shetty. The show will be broadcasted on Colors TV.
