The Golden State Warriors all-star team showed the basketball fraternity today why they are considered one of the best ever side to have played in the NBA. Trailing after the first half was completed, GSW upped their game to massive proportions as they went onto show their class and mettle to take the final match of the Western conferences by 101-92. In NBA 2018, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry were the match winners for them on the night with Curry scoring 11 consecutive unmatched points to take his side to victory by 4-3 in the series.
With the Cleveland Cavaliers defeating Boston yesterday, all eyes were on GSW to see if they could reach the final and set up a Cavaliers ad Warriors fourth consecutive final. And the Golden State Warriors are going back to the Finals for the fourth straight year. Kevin Durant scored 34 points as he finally stepped upto the party in a big match for the Warriors, shutting down all criticism of his performances in the progress. Steph Curry was another key cog in GSW’s win with 27 points, nine rebounds, 10 assists and four steals as the Warriors beat the Houston Rockets.
With nerves frayed and right on edge on the day, Houston got off to an impressive start, blowing off GSW right from the first minute. However they started edging off soon afterwards, with the match turning out to be one of their worst shooting performances infront of the basket. The most prolific 3-point shooting team in the regular season, the Rockets missed 27 straight 3s, setting a new record for the most consecutive missed shots in a play-off game. You cannot make such mistakes a crunch tie, especially not against GSW. There was no coming back for the Rockets from there on with GSW taking full advantage of their missed chances. Despite losing Thompson early on due to his third foul and Green having an average game, GSW showed their strength in numbers. Durant and Curry stole the match single-handily from the Rockets.
