NDTV Journalist asked to leave a press briefing in New York
Yesterday an NDTV journalist was asked to leave a press briefing of the Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary, the Pakistani Foreign Secretary, in New York. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is attending the UN meeting, disregarded Indian journalists who tried to question him on the Uri attack.
The incident happened after tensions were raised between the two countries due to Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri Terror attack on Sunday.
“Iss Indian ko Nikalo” were the words used when Ahmad Chaudhary was to address the media on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Not even a single Indian was allowed to attend the briefing, which reflected the sharp deterioration in ties.
In meetings yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared a decision to isolate Pakistan globally.
