North Korea vs Tajikistan

The Indian Team felt helpless while playing against the North Korean midfielders and attackers. After these fixtures, any hope of survival that India had was killed by North Korea when they defeat Tajikistan. Ri Hyon Jin opened the scoring for the game in the 33rd minute. It was from the back of a low cross by Hyong Jin. The Korean team’s pace was a factor that troubled the opposition just like India struggled with Tajikistan. It wasn’t very difficult to foresee that a goal by South Korea is in the making. Despite the loss to the Noth Koreans, Tajikistan has still made their place in the finals with six points. With a goal difference of +3, either Syria or North Korea will be playing them in the final which will take place on 19th July.

Intercontinental Cup 2019

If India is able to upset Syria, Tajikistan will get a rematch against North Korea in the final of the Intercontinental Cup 2019. India however even after winning their match against Syria will lead to nothing. It would more likely be a consolation for the men in blue. A win is nevertheless very important as it will help in deciding the new manager about which is his best starting line-up. It will also help in building confidence in the Indian players, management and its staff as India is taking these games to be as warm up or preparatory games for the World Cup Qualifiers. All is not lost, we are seeing an Indian Team that is going through a rough phase and it is good that the team is gaining experience and learning on the way for more significant tournaments that will be played in the future.
