Trinity gay 15-year-old daughter of Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay was reported to be fatally shot in Kentucky on Sunday and died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
The Athlete’s agent confirmed in a text message to the Associated Press that Gay’s daughter has died.
The police stated that officers went to the parking lot of a restaurant near the University of Kentucky campus at about 4 am. After witnesses reported gunfire had been exchanged between two vehicles. Officers located one of the vehicles and stopped two people for questioning, the statement added.
Police spokeswoman Brenna Angel said police don’t believe Trinity Gay was in either of the vehicles involved.
Trinity Gay was a sprinter at Lafayette High in Lexington. She has run on a 4×200 relay team that finished fourth.
Trinity was rushed to hospital in a private vehicle and later pronounced dead.
Police are still searching for the second vehicle.
