A Pakistan high commission employee was held by Delhi Police on Thursday for allegedly stealing defense-related documents.
Mahmood Akhtar was detained after a tip-off and is being questioned at Chanakyapuri Police station, Delhi’s diplomatic enclave.
Earlier in 2015 five people were arrested after some employees of the Pakistani mission came under scrutiny after a spy ring associated with Pakistan’s intelligence was exposed.
It is reported that Mahmood Akhtar was in possession of highly classified defense documents, maps and force deployment details. It was also claimed that he is on Pakistan’s Interservice Intelligence (ISI) payroll.
