Praful Billore Early Life
He was interested in the studies and wanted to study at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He prepared for the Common Entrance Test and put in a lot of hard work so that he can get into IIM-Ahmedabad. Despite studying hard for the national level test, he could not get the desired results to get into the institute of his dreams. Before studying for the Common Entrance Test, he was working as a salesperson at Amway with a ₹25,000 salary. He was balancing studies and work together. He used his savings from the money collected from his internship and made way to work for his future. His parents on the other hand wanted him to focus on his degree, but he decided not to go for it. He then took a break and travelled to different parts and then settled in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He later got a job at McDonald’s where he tried different job profiles ranging from a cashier to housekeeping staff.
Praful’s determination and passion for a business kept growing strong. His idea of a successful business plan was still at the back of his mind.

After much thinking, Praful Billore started his much-awaited startup ‘MBA Chaiwala’, a tea stall with ₹8,000 as its venture capital. His business had an unsteady beginning, but his experience with respect to customer service worked well for him, his understanding of customer behavioural patterns from McDonald’s helped him a lot. While at McDonald’s he kept on learning about what attracts more customers, what they are interested in, how a company should function and ways to improve your business. He started his business serving tea and toast. In need of the newest ideas, he refrained from using plastic cups. He tried introducing clay cups to attract customers and make them sustainable.
