The group stages of the Premier Badminton League 2018-19 bore rich rewards for the Awadhe Warriors who ended the 30 round league table format with 25 points to sit pretty at top of the table. Their scintillating form throughout the tournament had seen them decimate teams at will, with their squad functioning as a unit to put in complete performances throughout the singles and doubles disciplines. Following them in second were Hyderabad Hunters and Bengaluru Raptors with 24 and 21 points respectively while the top 4 was wrapped up by Mumbai Rockets who ended with 19 points from their 30 games.

However, unfortunately for the Awadhe Warriors, the fine run from the group stages didn’t carry over to the semi-finals with all their hard work for over two weeks being undone by Bengaluru Raptors. The first semi-final saw them go out after losing 2-4 in a jaded and dispirited performance.
Elsewhere, the last team to qualify for the semi-finals, Mumbai Rockets pulled off a massive result, defeating Hyderabad Hunters 4-2 in a thoroughly comprehensive victory for them.
