Premier League Gameweek 27 Matches – In a curtailed gameweek, one that will not see 4 teams in action with Chelsea and Manchester City slated to play in the Carabao Cup final at the Wembley Stadium, gameweek 27 of the premier league will see 8 matches being played out over the course of the weekend as opposed to the usual 10. The first blank gameweek of the season brings with it a massive opportunity for Liverpool to once again reaffirm themselves as title challengers and take back their lost mantle from Manchester City as they look to once again open the 3 points gap between both the sides at the top.
Other significant matches see Tottenham travel to Burnley with the match holding ramifications at both ends of the table, ensuring that the match will be a closely contested, feisty and competitive affair. While Burnley are in high need of a win as they look to further consolidate their move out of the relegation battle, for third-placed Tottenham a win would see them further be placed on the cusp of the third place in this year’s table.
Elsewhere, Bournemouth host Wolverhampton in what is certain to be an abundance of attacking football on display with both the sides having made everyone stands up and take notice to the mesmerising and meticulous brand of football they’ve dished out in the league. Both are fearless in their approach, sparing no expense in pushing for a goal and this could well turn out to be an absolute thriller, a match that you should definitely pencil your calendars for.
Moving back to the main clash of the gameweek, Liverpool will travel away to Manchester United with the side coming off the back of a tough and tricky Champions League draw against Bayern Munich earlier in the week. Liverpool knows they’ll have to be relentless in their approach come to their match on Sunday evening at 7:35 pm, using all their guile if they want to stay alive in the title race and continue their illustrious run and supremacy in the season.
Liverpool have largely been immaculate this season in the premier league and they’ve shown that they can readily up their game in the big encounters, something which we expect should see them ease to a 2-0 win on the day and move back to the top of the table.
The matches will be telecasted on Star Sports Select HD 1,2/HD with the gameweek beginning early on Saturday morning, 23rd January at 1:15 am IST. All score updates, news and developments revolving the matches will be available on our site and our Twitter feed.
