In the Premier League week 3 roundup, 29 goals, 4 red cards and just one goalless match meant this week’s action in the premier league provided us with plenty of high octane stuff. With Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham making up the top three, surprise package Watford continued their fine run to win all their first three matches of a season for the first time in their history to complete the top 4. Wolverhampton put in a gritty performance at home to hold reigning champions Manchester City to a 1-1 draw that pushed them 2 points behind the top. Meanwhile, in the biggest match of the week, Tottenham schooled a shambolic Manchester United on their home by 3-0.
The gameweek kicked off on Saturday with Manchester City traveling to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the early kickoff. After a false start that had seen Wolverhampton collect just 1 point from 2 games, they finally announced themselves to the premier league in the biggest shock result of the week. They played their fluid, attacking brand of football that had seen them top the championship to trouble city early on with it finally paying off after defender Bolly scored, albeit a controversial goal to give the home side the lead in front of a raucous home support. The city could only manage an equalizer in return as they went onto drop their first points of the 2018/19 campaign.
Saturday also treated us to the best football on display by a side with Chelsea dominating Newcastle. With 81% possession and 939 passes, Chelsea blew apart a Newcastle side that parked the bus the full 90 minutes, defending with 10 men. Jorginho pulled Chelsea’s strings as he implemented Sarri’s methods to perfection with Eden Hazard running the show in his first start this season for the giants to give Chelsea a deserved 2-1 win courtesy of a late Marcos Alonso strike that was bundled into the back of his own net by De Yedlin.
Arsenal also finally mounted their top 4 challenge with their first win of the season against West Ham. Defeats against City and Chelsea had mounted the pressure on new boss Emery early into the season. However, a 3-1 win at home saw them register their first points on the board and commend West Ham to the bottom of the table by becoming the only side to yet get a result this season.

Liverpool continued their winning streak with another clean sheet to become the only side to not concede this season. Salah continued his marvelous show with a fine strike that saw his side edge through to a 1-0 win.
Monday’s late-night kick-off rounded up the week for us with Tottenham visiting Manchester United whom they trashed black and blue. Running riot, Tottenham toyed with Manchester United who were worse than a pub team on the day to win 3-0 and with that take the second spot in the standings.
