Pro Kabaddi League 2017 final: Patna Pirates Beat Gujarat Fortunegiants

Powered by Pardeep Narwal’s superb performance, Patna Pirates rode to victory in the final of this year’s edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. For the third year running they proved that they are the best team in the league as they went on to win their third consecutive title this year. Narwal scored an astonishing 24 points to help Patna comeback against Gujarat Fortunegiants and win 55-38.

 

The much loved Pro Kabaddi League came to an end yesterday night as Patna and Gujarat clashed horns in a highly anticipated final. After three months of thrilling action, the best side in the league who also boast of the best player took home the title at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. Gujarat Fortunegiants who were playing their first season in the league took on defending champions Patna in front of a fully packed stadium.

 

Gujarat coach Manpreet Singh said, “A strong strategy is the key to success in any sport. And that is a mantra that each team member of the Gujarat Fortunegiants follows. It a matter of pride that the team has reached the finals in our first year in the league. Gujarat took an early lead but were pegged back by back to back raids by Patna skipper Pardeep Narwal. There was no looking back from there on by the Patna side who dominated Gujarat on the night with Monu’s successful raid sealing the win for them 55-38.
