An initiative of ProSportify and Wrestling Federation of India, Pro Wrestling League 2019 (PWL) is touted as the biggest Olympic Wrestling League not only in the country but in the world as well. With participants from 15 nationalities spanning across Asia, Europe, Africa and the American continent, the prestigious event is bigger and better for its 2019 edition, seeing the number of participating teams go up as well from 5 to 6 with the addition of a new franchise in the form of MP Yodha.
The floundering premier format sees a team composition of nine players per side made up of five men and four women, spread over 8 different weight categories. While five are Indian nationals, the four grapplers in each side are international players, making the league extremely competitive with some of the best wrestlers in the world competing for a shot at the glistening title and the Rs.1.9 crores prize money.
